An unlikely friendship forms between a broken comedian and a homeless man who moves into his backyard shed. 

Bum Next Door is a comedy feature film touching on many timely topics, such as friendship and betrayal, cultural differences, mental wellness, healthcare, homelessness and above all love, compassion and forgiveness.

Rahi Khalili, Ray, an unemployed actor, writer and comedian, is recovering from a betrayal by his best friend Dan, also an actor, who sold the series they developed together without him. Ray's only support is his grandmother in Iran, Maman Monir. Ray’s depression is interrupted by Jay, a homeless man who moves into Ray’s backyard shed. Jay has a job and keeps his appearance sharp with a membership in a fitness club. After several attempts to get rid of Jay, which is not an uneasy task in state of New Jersey, Ray and Jay form an unlikely friendship and go on an adventure aka “Harold and Kumar go to White Castle”.
